Dubbed an “all-new Rubik’s Cube” by EW and further hyped by Delos’ own Bernard Lowe (Jeffery Wright), who stated for the record that the second season of Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy’s brainchild “makes the first season look like a genteel kitchen drama,” Westworld‘s sophomore outing will almost undoubtedly expand the show’s narrative into ludicrous territory and we wouldn’t have it any other way.

Now, with a little over a month to go before we’re allowed to don our kimonos and enter Shogun World, HBO has granted us access to several new images from the upcoming batch of episodes – all of which can be seen in the gallery down below:

Featuring quite prominently the likes of series standouts Thandie Newton, Evan Rachel Wood, and the aforementioned Jeffery Wright, these snapshots also give viewers a peek at the newest series regular, Talulah Riley, and confirm fresh faces like Gustaf Skarsgård (Vikings) and Fares Fares (Tyrant). Also featured are the deliciously devilish men in black, Ed Harris, and Rodrigo Santoro.

Disappointingly however, one cannot help but notice the absence of Shogun attire or Samurai weapons in these pics. While it isn’t entirely surprising that HBO would’ve carefully selected images that keep the upcoming season’s secrets under wraps, fans are surely eager to see more of the aforementioned new theme park.

Thankfully, there’s not long to go before they’ll be given the chance to do just that, as season 2 of Westworld will premiere on April 22nd on HBO.
