I admit it, I liked how they handled Lori’s death on the show. I thought having Carl having to put her down after she gave birth was really tough and emotional, and worked really well.
I also found it funny how all the world flipped out and was so shocked and upset by it, even though everyone claimed it was all they wanted from the get-go because her character was such a pain in the ass. I also think Rick’s reaction on the show was gut-wrenching, which made it such a powerful moment.
But do you know how and when she died in the comic?
She died when the Governor invaded the prison for revenge, right after she gave birth. She was shot while carrying her newborn in her arms. Lori and the newborn baby died together, as a result of the Governor. I remember seeing that frame of her getting shot carrying the baby and really feeling sick. The Walking Dead show is like a fucking Disney cartoon compared to the comic book, and I think most people seem to lose sight of that.
