Promo For Next Week’s Walking Dead Teases The Calm Before The Storm

The Walking Dead season 9 is coming to an end, and tonight's episode - titled "Scars" - helped tie the season up in a bow by finally solving the mystery of the matching 'X' scars sported by Michonne and Daryl that's been bugging up for months. Now this one's out the way, this leaves us with just two installments left to go. And the promo for the penultimate episode teases some good... and some bad.

Next Sunday’s outing is titled “The Calm Before,” a name which makes more sense when you put it together with the title of the season finale, “The Storm.” As this suggests, the premise teases that things are starting to look up for the assembled communities but, this being The Walking Dead, things will soon turn sour. And likely pretty gory, too.

For more on what to expect, here’s the synopsis:

” The fair at the Kingdom is underway, with all four communities coming together in celebration for the first time in years; while some pacts are renewed, other deals will come at a much steeper price.”

The set-up of the fair organized by King Ezekiel will be familiar to readers of the comic books, and those fans will know that some dark stuff could be coming to the TV show very soon if AMC’s adaptation of the storyline is going to be anything like what’s on the page. And we think it’s going to be, as star Dan Fogler has suggested that “grisly” events are coming this season. In fact, they might even involve his character, Luke, who only showed up midway through the current run.

Be sure to catch The Walking Dead 9×15 “The Calm Before” next Sunday, March 24th on AMC. After that, it sounds like there’s a dark storm brewing as the season comes to a close, and we can’t wait to see what’s in store.
