Trouble Arises In This Promo For Next Week’s Walking Dead

Tonight’s episode of The Walking Dead, titled “The Key" checked in on a number of different characters as the war with the Saviors continues. In particular, Maggie, Enid and Michonne went on an unexpected trip while Rick Grimes finally came face to face with his nemesis Negan for the first time since Carl's death at the beginning of this half-season. As you'd expect, it proved to be a nail-biting reunion for the pair.

In particular, Maggie (Lauren Cohan), Enid (Katelyn Nacon) and Michonne (Danai Gurira) went on an unexpected trip while Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) finally came face to face with his nemesis Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) for the first time since his son Carl’s death at the beginning of season 8B. As you’d expect, it proved to be a nail-biting reunion for the pair.

Overall, this was another solid outing that progressed the story in some interesting ways that we look forward to seeing explored in future weeks. Speaking of which, we now have our first glimpse at next Sunday’s episode in the form of the short promo up above, along with a clip down below.

This thirteenth installment of season 8 is set to be titled “Do Not Send Us Astray” and the previously-released synopsis hints that trouble is right around the corner for the folks at Hilltop:

“Trouble arises when unexpected visitors arrive at the Hilltop and the community is thrust into action; heartbreaking discoveries are made.”

With the season rolling into its final handful of episodes now, things look to be coming to a head as this description teases that some emotional revelations are on the way. We’re not sure what those could be right now, but we do know it’s likely that Carl Grimes won’t be the last major casualty this year.

After all, Seth Gilliam (who plays Father Gabriel) has promised that “more death” is on the way soon. Could it be Maggie who’s about to meet her end, seeing as Lauren Cohan’s negotiations with AMC have yet to come to an agreement both parties are happy with?

We’ll have to wait and see, but be sure to catch The Walking Dead “Do No Send Us Astray” next Sunday, March 25th, on AMC.
