It’s fair to say that The Walking Dead‘s seventh season was the most controversial run of the smash-hit post-apocalyptic drama to date. Sure, it has its fans, but the shocking and brutal premiere and the slow, protracted pace of the rest of the season rubbed many people the wrong way. The final few episodes did pick it up again, however, as they pitted the people of Alexandria, the Kingdom and Hilltop against Negan and his Saviors.
For season 8, then, things are looking to be a lot more action-packed, with the stakes being higher than ever before. We’ve been teased with all-out war and episodes that will be more kinetic and fast paced, all of which has put a smile on the face of many a fan. Anticipation is definitely high right now, to be sure, and with Comic-Con right around the corner, the excitement is starting to skyrocket.
Why? Well, because AMC will use the San Diego-based event to release the first trailer for season 8, finally giving us a look at what’s in store for Rick and co. when they return to our screens in the fall.
Yesterday, we brought you the first details on what the network has planned for the show, telling you that the panel will take place on July 21st at 12:15pm PT. Presumably, that’s when we’ll get our first look at the new season, and there to discuss what’s in store will be most of the main cast and crew. Revealed earlier today were the panel members that’ll be present at Comic-Con next month, and it’s quite the roster.
The Walking Dead‘s panel will be hosted by Chris Hardwick and includes Andrew Lincoln, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Norman Reedus, Lauren Cohan, Danai Gurira, Melissa McBride, Lennie James, Seth Gilliam, Alanna Masterson, Khary Payton, and Chandler Riggs along with Executive Producer and Showrunner Scott M. Gimple, Executive Producer Robert Kirkman, Executive Producer Gale Anne Hurd, Executive Producer, Director and Special Effects Make-up Supervisor Greg Nicotero and Executive Producer David Alpert.
Sounds good, right? Just about everyone you could hope to see from The Walking Dead will be there and with such a star studded group in tow, hopefully the panel will be one to remember.
Tell us, do you plan on attending Comic-Con this year? If so, will you be joining Andrew Lincoln and co. for the big panel? Let us know in the usual place.
