In a show full of emotion, sports, character development, and behavioral growth, it hardly comes as a surprise that star Jason Sudeikis has embodied the persona and guidance of Ted Lasso over the last three seasons. The show might have concluded with its final season this year, but it’s clear that the series’ long-lasting effects are constantly on display — especially when it comes to a recent speech from Sudeikis on the final day of shooting.
In a recent interview at the Monte-Carlo Television Festival, Ted Lasso star James Lance discussed the show’s incredible journey and the amazing time spent with co-stars. In particular, Lance highlighted a moment where Sudeikis envisioned the bright future of all of the show’s stars — insisting that “a piece of magic” was created on set and that the “light” of Ted Lasso should continue to shine. Sudeikis said:
“This is a piece of magic. Let’s take it out into the world, back to our families, and share it with our children. Let it accompany us to our next job. Take this light and let it shine.… It couldn’t have been more Ted Lasso, but it truly came from the heart.”
The Apple TV series might have already punched the ticket on its tenure, but that doesn’t mean that its legacy won’t continue to touch the lives of many. In fact, there’s definitely no denying that Ted Lasso will go down in history as one of the most impactful sports-drama series of all time.
Until the next television fixation rolls around, folks can binge episodes of Ted Lasso (and adhere to Ted’s cheesy jokes, advice, and one-liners) on Apple TV Plus now.
