Love him or hate him, since his tenure on Parks and Recreation, followed by his literal rocket to prominence in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, Chris Pratt has become something of a staple action hero in the years since.
With James Gunn’s DC Universe slate finally out for the world to digest, naturally folks are going to town with fancasting numerous actors in the plethora of new roles that DC’s upcoming projects will open up.
Seeing as Gunn and Pratt have previously collaborated in the past, it doesn’t seem too far-fetched for the Jurassic World: Dominion star to find a place in the mostly-rebooted DC Universe. One piece of fan art has illustrated just where the star could fit:
Of course, Booster Gold was confirmed by Gunn to be one of the many characters coming to the new DC Universe, and is getting his own self-titled TV series, so u/clutchkweku’s month-old post on the r/Fancast subreddit turned out to be a little clairvoyant. To recap, here’s how Gunn described the character:
“He is a fascinating guy. He’s a loser from the future who uses future technology to come back to present day and become a superhero so that people will love him. It is basically the superhero story of impostor syndrome on an HBO Max series.”
Certainly sounds like the kind of character that would fall within Pratt’s wheelhouse, given that the actor seems to play it quite safe. After all, he appears to have barely deviated from his own natural voice for his role in The Super Mario Bros. Movie.
Whether he ends up playing Booster Gold, or someone else entirely, it’s looking likely that Pratt will make his way into the DC Universe in one way or another, seeing as Gunn has already admitted his intentions to bring him in.
