Every team experienced some minor setbacks this episode. Kol compelling Damon to kill Jeremy being one of the major problems. For a second there I almost wanted to believe that Damon’s love for Elena would be enough to fight the compulsion, but no cigar. And, even though Stefan is acting like a complete douche bag and I’d like to reserve all compliments for, well frankly, anyone else, he was able to resist Klaus’s compulsion enough for Elena to escape from the gym last season. Makes a girl wonder who really loves Elena more. Also, Stefan may be nursing his wounds still and probably for the next decade or so barring a reconciliation, but he did come through for Elena in crunch time and make sure Jeremy made it home alive and Damon was labelled “not a threat.”
Lucky for him, Damon’s not the only one under an arrest of some sort. Professor Shane was taken in for questioning at the order of the new mayor. Sheriff Forbes interupted a training session he was having with Bonnie which only made the situation more complicated. Admitting that you orchestrated a suicide/murder that left 12 people dead is apparently the one thing that really sets Bonnie off. Now that she has turned unknowingly to Expressionism, which is just a fancy name for black or dark magic, getting on her bad side is probably not the wisest move.
Shane is convinced that these deaths will be reversed once he finds Silas, but I’m with Bonnie – he’s crazy. Where he might have a point though is that Bonnie is definitely out of control. I wonder how long it will take before her friends realize it? With all the rumors circulating about a major death coming before the end of the season, I’m guessing they won’t notice until it’s too late.
On the plus side, there was no side of Professor Shane’s stooge Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) this week. Good riddance! Now if only she was uncast from The Vampire Diaries spin-off, The Originals, that The CW recently announced.
There wasn’t too much action taking place in this episode, but I am curious to see how the guy that bit off his own tongue before stabbing himself in the next is related to the cure. Is there a new team signing up?
Who do you think is going to win the race for the cure? Let us know!
Until next episode.
