Remember Ryan Murphy’s claim that September belonged to the witches? Well, the creative genius behind FX’s American Horror Story is about to do good on that promise by reuniting the core cast of “Coven.”
This past weekend, Murphy shared photographic evidence of the AHS witches back together, which really poses more questions than answers… but more on that later.
Down below, you’ll see some of American Horror Story‘s finest characters, including Sarah Paulson as Cordelia Goode, Stevie Nicks as Stevie Nicks, Lily Rabe as Misty Day, Emma Roberts as Madison Montgomery, Taissa Farmiga as Zoe Benson, Gabourey Sidibe as Queenie and Frances Conroy as Myrtle Snow.
Conspicuous by their absence? Nan (Jamie Brewer) and Fiona (Jessica Lange), though we understand the latter is returning as Constance Langdon, Lange’s mystery character from “Murder House.” This, coupled with season 8’s apocalyptic setting, has led many to conclude that American Horror Story‘s latest (and potentially greatest?) installment blurs the line between each realm, thereby allowing prominent characters from “Coven” and “Murder House” to share the same screen.
If that’s really the case, and Ryan Murphy intends to toy with expectations, it could result in one of the show’s more memorable installments in years.
We have just one question, though: how will AHS resurrect some of those aforementioned witches? After all, only Cordelia, Zoe and Queenie survived the events of “Coven,” so it may take some sorcery from Cordelia (or Stevie Nicks?) before they’re back in the game. Then again, they are witches…
Either way, American Horror Story officially triggers the “Apocalypse” on September 12th. And don’t worry, the show’s future is safe as houses, as FX already handed out a two-season renewal to the gothic anthology series.
