This time, Disney Plus is celebrating July with an array of new content hitting the platform. From the celebration of Shark Week (or Sharkfest) to documentaries, those who use the platform to catch up on their favorite shows will be gifted with high-quality content. While it becomes nearly impossible to keep track of everything that is released on a daily basis (after all, we can’t add Secret Invasions to all the entries), worry not – we’ve compiled a list of the content that you cannot miss in July.

Sharkfest

Although most of the releases from Sharfest have already hit the platform, the week is definitely promising to cause quite a wave among the users. With its own idea to celebrate Shark Week and the so-welcoming heat from the summertime, Disney Plus decided to shower its users with a ginormous arsenal of gifts, all made up of sharp fangs and waving fins. From this impressive list, names that stand out are Shark Below Zero, When Sharks Attack… And Why, and Return of the White Shark. All specials are already available on the platform.

Kizazi Moto: Generation Fire

Perhaps one of the most unique premises to reach television in 2023, Kizazi Moto: Generation Fire not only promises an eye-pleasing animation style but also a whacky 10-part short film anthology comprising the weirdest yet most fascinating stories imaginable. These Afro-futuristic tales from the series are already establishing the tone for the undoubtedly incredible upcoming show, transporting us from a world in 2050 where criminal gangs employ radioactive octopi to a realm where aspiring gods vie for ascension through a talent show. The series will be released on July 5.

Yuzuru Hanyu Ice Story 2023 “Gift” at Tokyo Dome

Impressive to say the least, the life and adventures of Yuzury Hanyu, a celebrated ice skater hailing from Japan, has long been requested by fans of the athlete for years. As the great host that it is, Disney Plus delivered and offered Hanyu an entire documentary for the athlete to showcase his gracious moves and understatedly powerful presence in the ring, through the lens that had introduced him to fans all across the globe. This mesmerizing show of lights, talent, and figure skating his showing first-ever solo ice show at Tokyo Dome will be available to stream on July 14.

Tomorrow X Together: Our Lost Summer

Still in the documentary realm, the K-Pop group Tomorrow x Together, otherwise known as TXT, will also release its first-ever documentary on Disney Plus this month. Per HYBE’s agreement with the streaming giant, groups hailing from the label (BTS and TXT) ought to have their documentaries and series available on the platform, and of course, we couldn’t be more excited. The docuseries will focus on the group’s first-ever world tour, where they headlined Lollapalooza for the very first time, earning the title of becoming the first ever K-Pop group to reach such an achievement. MOAs, rejoice on July 28.

The Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse: Steamboat Silly

As the perfect mixture of modernity and old-school content, The Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse: Steamboat Silly is set to impress all ages and generations from the past, the present, and the future. The upcoming fifth special and the overall twenty-fifth and final episode of The Wonderful World of Mickey Mouseoof, that was a mouthful – will finally reach the platform with an enticing story. The final special of the anthology will focus on Mickey and his friends as they stop hundreds of old film reel versions of Mickey from wreaking havoc all over town. We’ll be able to revisit our childhood favorites on July 28.

Naturally, it’s always hard to choose the best of what’s to come, especially with all of the series returning for a new season ahead. And yet, all of the aforementioned series, specials, and films will undoubtedly ensure quite the ride for July, to join all of your summer marathons.
