There’s been something about the latest Beacon Hills transfer, Kira (Arden Cho), that has definitely caught our attention – and it’s not just because of how naturally tongue tied she becomes whenever Scott’s around. It turns out that she might fit in with this supernatural friendly crowd better than they would have imagined.
We got our first real hint on tonight’s episode that Kira may have something special about her – followed up with some concrete proof. Before Stiles (Dylan O’Brien) and Lydia (Holland Roden) found any evidence that the escaped convict was actually in the school and then deciphered a conveniently left to-do list on the board, an impromptu family dinner discreetly let the cat out of the bag. It turns out that Kira’s mom was the only surviving member of a family with an interesting back story. One that will most likely be the topic for next week’s history lesson.
After surviving what could have been a very uncomfortable evening with the parents of the girl who likes him (whose father also happens to be his history teacher), Scott fails to seal the deal. Just before he can say anything remotely suave, he’s rendered unconscious by a man on a serious mission. It has to sting a bit that with all the added sensory receptors, he didn’t hear/see/smell that one coming.
Fortunately, back up arrives just in time to revive Scott and unravel the clues to where Kira is being held, but that’s pretty much where their usefulness ended. Kira turned out to be her own hero on tonight’s episode of Teen Wolf when she literally absorbed enough voltage to kill the lights of the entire town. It’s great to see another female character that can take care of herself, but it would have been nicer if she hadn’t just stood there looking embarrassingly awkward when Scott noticed what was going on. I guess even heroes have their weaknesses.
Perhaps on the next episode she can save Isaac (Daniel Sharman) from the ninjas. One minute he’s revelling in what could have been with Allison (Crystal Reed), and the next he’s surrounded by men in black. I forget, is there something in the mythology that weaves ninjas and werewolves together?
People that are conductors of electricity, ninjas attacking werewolves, and whatever Derek saw in his voluntary hallucination – none of which looks pleasant.
