Maybe it’s just me, but the hiatus we’re currently enduring when it comes to DC TV shows may very well be the most difficult to bear when you consider that the season finales are within reaching distance. Fortunately, we have a few nuggets of information to present while you pass the time, specifically the official descriptions for Supergirl, The Flash and Arrow’s returning episodes.
First, let’s talk Supergirl because it’ll be the first of the bunch to air. In this particular offering, iZombie’s Rahul Kohli drops by (hey, his show is based on a Vertigo comic, so he’s allowed to play somebody else), and pays a visit to his ex-girlfriend – Lena Luthor. If anything, the trailer embedded at the top hints that he’s not to be trusted, but we’ll just have to wait and see.
Here’s what we know about “Ace Reporter” so far, which is set to air on Monday, April 24:
IZOMBIE’S” RAHUL KOHLI GUEST STARS – Lena’s (guest star Katie McGarth) ex-boyfriend, Jack Spheer (guest star Rahul Kohli), comes to National City to unveil his big breakthrough in nano-technology, which has the potential to eradicate all diseases. Lena asks Kara to attend Jack’s conference with her for support. When Kara sees Snapper (guest Star Ian Gomez) in attendance she’s inspired to tap back into her reporter skills and questions Jack on his discovery, which ultimately leads to a bigger investigation that puts everyone in danger. Armen V. Kevorkian directed the episode written by Paula Yoo & Caitlin Parrish (#218).
Then, on Tuesday, April 25, The Flash makes its highly anticipated return, so we can only hope that they finally stop yanking our chain when it comes to revealing Savitar’s true identity. Considering that Barry Allen is set to travel ten years into the future in order to acquire some answers, the producers had better damn well throw us a bone.
You can check out the official synopsis for “The Once and Future Flash” below:
TOM CAVANAGH DIRECTS; BARRY TRAVELS TO THE FUTURE TO SAVE IRIS – Barry (Grant Gustin) travels to the future to find out Savitar’s still unknown identity in the hopes of saving Iris (Candice Patton). Upon his arrival in 2024, Barry encounters future versions of his Team Flash friends, who, following the death of Iris, have become very different people, profoundly impacted by their showdown with Savitar. It will be up to Barry to infuse a sense of hope back into the team, as he proves to be hero his future friends have been waiting for. Meanwhile, back in 2017, the hunt for Killer Frost (Danielle Panabaker) continues. Tom Cavanagh directed the episode written by Carina Adly MacKenzie (#319).
Finally, we come to Arrow, a show whose synopses are starting to get as vague as its trailers. But when there’s so much intrigue surrounding the situation with Prometheus, it’s understandable that the network’s keeping its cards close to its vest. Aside from the pursuit for the big bad continuing, expect Felicity to fall in deeper with Helix.
Here’s the skinny on “Dangerous Liasons,” which is set to air on Wednesday, April 26:
THE SEARCH FOR CHASE INTENSIFIES — Oliver (Stephen Amell), Team Arrow, ARGUS and the SCPD kick off a citywide manhunt for Adrian Chase (Josh Segarra). Helix tells Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) they have a way to find Chase but they will need something big, and illegal, from her in return. Joel Novoa directed the episode written by Speed Weed & Elizabeth Kim (#519).
Tell us, which of these intrigues you most? Is it Supergirl possibly returning to CatCo? Or the Flash continuing to have no regard for the natural order of things? Sound off in the usual place below!
