Over the years, Scooby-Doo and the gang have taken part in some memorable team-ups. Believe it or not, those meddling kids can lay claim to having met the likes of Batman and Robin, the Three Stooges, the Harlem Globetrotters and even the cast of Gilligan’s Island. In fact, DC even published an ongoing comic titled Scooby-Doo Team-up in recent years.
But, back in March, the Great Dane with an insatiable hunger crossed paths with Sam and Dean Winchester in what was nothing short of an epic animated mashup. In the opinion of this writer, it showcased what makes both Supernatural and Scooby-Doo great, effectively satisfying each fanbase – though there is likely much overlap on the Venn diagram.
So, whether you missed it the first time around or would like to relive the adventure all over again, know that The CW will air an encore presentation of “Scoobynatural” on Thursday, August 16. Sure, you do have the option to own it for yourself when Supernatural: The Complete Thirteenth Season arrives on Blu-ray and DVD on September 4, but why wait? You can guarantee that I’ll be tuning in.
Of course, it’d be awesome if a followup is being planned, but that’d be a ways off. Don’t forget, voiceovers are recorded a year in advance, so another crossover of this type would have to drop in a potential fifteenth season if indeed Warner Bros. were to give the green light.
