Over the years, Scooby-Doo and the gang have taken part in some memorable team-ups. Believe it or not, those meddling kids can lay claim to having met the likes of Batman and Robin, the Three Stooges, the Harlem Globetrotters and even the cast of Gilligan’s Island. In fact, DC even published an ongoing comic titled Scooby-Doo Team-up in recent years.
But, this winter, the Great Dane with an insatiable hunger will cross paths with Sam and Dean Winchester in what’s expected to be an unforgettable animated mashup. Sure, Supernatural is still riding high from the awesome backdoor pilot that was “Wayward Sisters” and we have several key returns to look forward to later this season, but this may take the cake.
Actually, we’ve known to expect this for a while now, but thanks to a timely Tweet courtesy of co-executive producer Jim Michaels, a poster (seen above) bearing the episode’s title, “Scoobynatural,” has been revealed. Plus, it’s confirmed to arrive in episode 16 of the current season. And considering that episode 11 airs this week, there isn’t much space separating us from showtime.
Captioned with “Time to tech survey in the Mystery Machine!,” the black and white promo artwork that resembles something ripped out of a Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark book reveals not much else other than the fact that series stalwart Robert Singer will direct. Regardless, we’re expecting more teasers to creep online in the coming weeks.
Supernatural airs on Thursday nights on The CW.
