Bucky Barnes is a man of few words, and in the wake of yesterday’s confirmation that a Falcon and Winder Soldier TV show is in the works, actor Sebastian Stan stayed true to the spirit of his character.
In a recent Instagram post, the MCU star shared the newly unveiled logo for the Disney Plus series, along with the following message:
“Ok.”
While Stan isn’t exactly exploding with enthusiasm here, his post has received a ton of replies from fans who are a lot less shy about expressing their excitement.
Of course, as anyone who saw the ending of Avengers: Infinity War can tell you, neither Falcon nor the Winter Soldier is in any state these days to lead their own miniseries. In fact, from Loki to Scarlet Witch, most of the Disney Plus shows are seemingly going to characters who perished in the events of last year’s release. But while we certainly can’t rule out some of these projects being prequels, it’s generally assumed that Earth’s Mightiest Heroes will succeed in their mission to reverse Thanos’ genocidal snap in this month’s Avengers: Endgame.
That being said, though we can expect to see quite a few deaths undone in this month’s release, Bucky’s old friend Steve Rogers may not be around for much longer. There’s even been a fair amount of speculation in the past year that Stan’s character might end up inheriting the Captain America title, though the very existence of the Falcon and Winder Soldier show makes this possibility seem pretty unlikely. Regardless, we’ll see if Steve and Bucky can at least get one last reunion before Cap’s departure when Avengers: Endgame hits theaters on April 26th.
