Supernatural continues to thrill audiences with scares, intriguing storylines and sharp witted humor. It’s no wonder that the cult favorite is now in its eleventh season with no end in sight. To follow up this week’s strong character piece, “Baby,” the producers have decided to tread uncharted water, at least for this show.
The case of Lizzie Borden is no doubt one of the most notorious bits of true crime in American history. Pretty much everyone is familiar with the story and has likely heard the “Lizzie Borden took an ax….” nursery rhyme at some point in their life. Despite being acquitted of her parents’ murders, Ms. Borden’s name has lived on in infamy. Her home has actually been turned into a bed and breakfast inn, attracting tourists from near and far.
That very bed and breakfast, or B&B, is the backdrop for November 4’s episode, “Thin Lizzie.” Yes, Supernatural continues its long standing tradition of rock and roll references.
You can check out the official synopsis below for some hints of what we can possibly expect.
JARED GERTNER GUEST STARS — Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) investigate a series of murders at a local B&B that also happens to be Lizzie Borden’s old home. When a local man, Len (guest star Jared Gertner), tells them he saw a little girl around the B&B around the time of the murders, the brothers realize Amara (guest star Yasmeene Ball) may be responsible. Rashaad Ernesto Green directed the episode written by Nancy Won (#1105). Original airdate 11/4/2015.
It will be interesting to see if they incorporate the actual ghost of Lizzie Borden or if Amara is indeed hanging around the B&B as the synopsis says the Winchester boys are assuming. It’s also possible that something is using the legend as a smokescreen, which isn’t unheard of in the show’s history.
Supernatural airs Wednesday nights at 9pm EST on The CW.
