The gory third season of Stranger Things hasn’t even been out for a full day and already fans are pining for more. While Netflix hasn’t officially picked up the hit show for a fourth batch of episodes yet, it seems inevitable that the Emmy-award winning series will be brought back. Unfortunately, that means fans will have to wait at least a full year for the continuation of the beloved franchise. Since nothing has been announced by anyone as of yet, the only thing to do is speculate when the much-anticipated next installment will hit the streaming platform.
Given the recent history of the show to release new material on holidays, it’s safe to guess that the next season could pop up on or around Christmas Day 2020. The big holiday will give viewers plenty of time to binge every episode. It also gives the cast and crew a wide window to film.
Since the premiere of Stranger Things, most of the actors have deservingly become huge stars. The only downside to this is that it’s becoming increasingly difficult to get everyone on the same schedule. A late December release next year will give everybody involved ample time to work out dates that suit them all.
None of this is a definite though because Netflix hasn’t made any announcement. Still, there are too many unanswered questions for the streaming platform to pull the plug now. Plus, the series is more popular than ever and producer Shawn Levy has vowed that season 4 will happen:
“I mean I will say we have a good sense of stuff that happens in season four. Season four is definitely happening. There’s very much the possibility of a season beyond that one, that’s currently undecided.”
In the meantime, fans can always rewatch the entire series from the beginning or just go over the most recent spooky batch of episodes as often as they want, as season 3 of Stranger Things is currently steaming on Netflix.
