Take heed, Clone Club; the fifth and final season of Orphan Black is scheduled to premiere on Saturday, June 10 at 10/9c, BBC America has confirmed.
Word comes by way of the show’s official Twitter feed, which promises one final, mind-bending ride for Tatiana Maslany and her army of clones. As previously revealed, Orphan Black season 5 will stretch for 10 episodes in total, with co-showrunner Graeme Manson noting that the show’s final outing will tackle themes of “pro-longevity and life extension.”
After unearthing a bona fide star in Tatiana Maslany, who plays multiple clones of the same person caught in an elaborate web of crime and government conspiracy, news that Orphan Black is prepping to bow off the airwaves is undoubtedly bittersweet, and it’ll take something special to fill the void left by Graeme Manson and John Fawcett’s hit sci-fi series once the credits roll for a final time. To their credit, both Manson and Fawcett have long expressed their desire to cap off Sarah Manning’s story after five seasons, or run the risk of petering out.
In a previous interview, co-creator Graeme Manson noted: “We always sort of had five seasons in mind, and the thing that we just didn’t want to do is get kind of soft around the middle. We really think that it’s cooler to cancel yourself than to get canceled, than to peter out.”

Comprised of 10 episodes in total, Orphan Black season 5 will close the book on Sarah’s story – and Alison’s, and Helena’s, and Cosima’s, and Rachel’s – when Graeme Manson and John Fawcett’s award-winning drama returns this summer. Saturday, June 10th is the date for your diaries, but will you be tuning in for the show’s curtain call?
