The struggle continues.

Against all criticism, Netflix continues to pump out new content, ignoring complaints regarding the platform’s unfair treatment of fan-favorite shows. At this point, viewers should no longer be surprised, but it’s hard to quell the disappointment that comes with seeing beloved series getting glossed over. One of the best examples of this is Lockwood & Co.

On April 26, Netflix issued an announcement of upcoming shows hitting the streaming platform. While a few people found some excitement in that, the majority didn’t take the news well, claiming that’s far from what viewers want right now. The Lockwood & Co. fandom, in particular, took over Twitter to express their despair at the situation, emphasizing their desire to see the hit show get green-lit for a second season, instead of being bombarded with new content left and right.

While sparing no effort in campaigning for a second season of their favorite show, it’s obvious that Lockwood & Co. fans are getting tired โ€” and even worse, frustrated โ€” of seeing their search for answers ignored.

Some viewers also took the opportunity to call out Netflix on its recent choices, as the service continuously opts for creating new series only to drop them soon after. This seems to be a trend with fantasy shows in particular, which have been getting axed no matter how successful they are.

Based on Jonathan Stroud’s book series, season one of Lockwood & Co. premiered on Jan. 27 on Netflix, and soon became a hit among fantasy enthusiasts. Even so, fans were fast to brace for a potential cancelation, too used to being burned by the network’s odds choices.

Now, fans are beginning to wonder what’s worse, having the band-aid ripped off or waiting for a renewal that may never come. Time will tell.
