The third season of Marvel’s Daredevil has yet to settle on an official release date, but as filming continues on the streets of New York City and Vermont, where we’ll presumably be introduced to the wider Page family, we’re starting to get a better idea of what to expect.
For one, Matt Murdock’s visually impaired crusader will surely be crossing paths with Vincent D’Onofrio’s scenery-chewing baddie, Wilson Fisk, once more, while chances are Marvel’s Kingpin will be facing trial when Daredevil season 3 returns to our screens. Not to mention those set photos which hinted at Karen’s role in the grand scheme of things.
Throw in the fact that given where Murdock was left in the finale of The Defenders leads us to believe that this new run will loosely adapt the “Born Again” storyline from the comics, and you have all the makings of a return to form for the show. Or so says Netflix VP of Original Content Cindy Holland, who told Deadline the following:
“The biggest issue was the timing of production and launching of The Defenders because what that meant is we had to shut down all of the shows, so all the actors be available for The Defenders so it’s more function of that. There is no problem with this season, I think it’s fantastic, it’s real return to form in my view.”
Of course, another reason to be excited for Daredevil season 3 is the fact that the Man Without Fear’s other nemesis is making his MCU debut for the first time. Winston Bethel will stepping into the role of the deadshot assassin Bullseye and it’s thought that he’ll be hired by Fisk to take down the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen.
Again, we don’t know for sure just yet when Matt Murdock will be back on the streaming service, but a late 2018 premiere seems pretty likely at this point. As always, watch this space for more.
