Up until now, there was a thick and eerie veil of mystery wrapped around Netflix’s latest original show, Bloodline. The maritime drama is due to join the service’s ever-expanding lineup of exclusives in March of next year and, thanks to all-to-brief teaser, we’ve learned a bit more of the show’s ominous tone.
In truth, the thirty-second clip doesn’t reveal an awful lot in terms of story — though we understand that it will primarily centre around an everyday family. Following the return of their wayward brother, the supposedly close-knit family call their ties into question, but it seems Bloodline will go much further than mood swings and petty sibling rivalry.
Currently, Netflix has scheduled one season of the family drama which will, like the other shows aboard its acclaimed roster, run for thirteen episodes, with each one debuting simultaneously in March of next year.
Bloodline is the brainchild of Damages’ alum Todd A. Kessler, Daniel Zelman, and Glen Kessler, and the trio have already filled a considerable amount of spaces on the show’s casting sheet. Chief among those members is The Wolf of Wall Street’s Kyle Chandler, who signed on to the show back in January.
Joining Chandler on the ambiguous project are Ben Mendelsohn, Jamie McShane, Linda Cardellini, Sam Shepard, Sissy Spacek and Norbert Leo Butz.
Bloodline will set sail for Netflix in March, 2015, when all thirteen episodes will debut exclusively on the popular streaming service. You can check out the plot summary below and let us know in the comments section if you’re looking forward to this one.
“Set in the Florida Keys, Bloodline centers on a close-knit family of four adult siblings whose secrets and scars are revealed when their black sheep brother returns home.”
