The next show in Marvel’s Netflix partnership, Jessica Jones, now has its official logo available in high-resolution.
Set to release later this year, Jessica Jones will be based on Alias, the Marvel Comics series. Being a part of the company’s MAX imprint means that the character already has a mature target audience, and showrunner Melissa Rosenberg has stated that the show will be going “further than the comics did,” which is definitely encouraging to hear.
[zerg]In the source material, Jones had a short-lived experience as a superhero, which abruptly ended due to being controlled by the villainous Purple Man, who forced her to attack the Avengers. He’ll be back for the show as well, and will have the ability to control almost anyone he wishes through pheromones.
We also know that both Luke Cage and Claire Temple (Rosario Dawson’s Daredevil character) will be showing up on Jessica Jones as well, further helping to tie the series into the over-arching universe that Marvel is building with Netflix.
Aside from that, not a whole lot is known in regards to what we can expect from the upcoming show, but given the success of Daredevil, we’re certainly hopeful that Marvel’s next venture on the small screen will impress.
