Thanks to the first trailer for Arrow season 6 that dropped at San Diego Comic-Con back in July, we’ve been given a lot to look forward to when we rejoin the series this fall. One thing in particular that you may agree with me in saying is among the greatest selling points is that of seeing Manu Bennett returning as Deathstroke for a number of episodes.
In fact, one could say that the return of Slade Wilson is doubly exciting, not only because he’s once again siding with Oliver Queen now that the Mirakuru has burned out of his system, but also because we’ll get to see this iteration of the character be fleshed out thanks to flashbacks set to be explored in a two-episode arc.
More recently, though, we’ve learned that his highly anticipated comeback will occur in episode 6×05 and, from the look of it, that’s currently being filmed. Appropriately dubbed “Deathstroke Returns,” we can at least take solace in knowing that it’ll deliver what the title promises.
Not being one to allow for dull moments, Bennett himself took to Instagram not long ago, offering a pretty cool picture of himself lounging around while wearing Slade’s patented eye patch. Now, it’s unclear whether this is hinting at a moment from the episode in question or if the image was snapped between takes, but it’s gotten us geeked for sure. Either way, the legendary mercenary looks more than ready to find his missing son.
Arrow returns for its sixth season on Thursday, October 12 on The CW.
