Fans of CBS‘s hit comedy The Big Bang Theory are in for a treat. Leonard Nimoy has agreed to guest star in an upcoming episode!
Nimoy broke the hearts of Trekkies everywhere when he announced his retirement just last year, but it looks like he’s going back on his word – at least for a half hour of humor.
The caveat? He will only be making a voice-over cameo. On March 29th Nimoy, or rather his voice, will appear in one of Sheldon’s dreams. This is third voice appearance he has made since his retirement, the other two being on an animated episode of Fox‘s Fringe and as Sentinel Prime in Transformers: Dark of the Moon.
Nimoy is one of many Star Trek alum to grace this geek comedy. Also making guest appearances have been Star Trek: The Next Generation’s LeVar Burton, Brent Spiner, and Will Wheaton, and original cast member George Takei.
The Big Bang Theory airs on CBS Thursdays at 8:00 p.m.
