Lauren Graham Reveals The Official Title Of Netflix’s Gilmore Girls Revival

You can all relax now: Netflix's hotly anticipated revival of Gilmore Girls finally has an official title, at least according to leading actress Lauren Graham. The show shall be called: Gilmore Girls: A Year In The Life. Granted, not the most intensely exciting title of all time, but at least it says what's in the package.

You can all relax now: Netflix’s hotly anticipated revival of Gilmore Girls finally has an official title, at least according to leading actress Lauren Graham. The show shall be called: Gilmore Girls: A Year In The Life. Granted, not the most intensely exciting title of all time, but at least it says what’s in the package.

Graham stopped by The Ellen DeGeneres Show today to drop the title – and it certainly confirms, beyond any lingering doubt, that Netflix and the original Gilmore Girls cast are going on with the revival. The new show is not quite a fully-fledged TV series, though. It will appear as a miniseries of four hour and a half episodes, each of them covering a season in a calendar year. This might not be what all Gilmore Girls fans were hoping for, but it’s better than nothing. What’s more, if the show does well and the cast remains on board, there’s every chance that Netflix will commission more episodes or even a proper series. Never say never.

More importantly, the revival brings back most of the original Gilmore Girls cast, including Graham, Alexis Bledel, Melissa McCarthy, Scott Patterson, Kelly Bishop, Keiko Agena, Sean Gunn, Milo Ventimiglia, Matt Czuchry, Liza Weil, Jared Padalecki and Yanic Truesdale. For fans, that’s nothing to sneeze at, and it’s reason enough to keep your Netflix account active. It’s not yet clear whether the episodes will all premiere at once or slowly release over a matter of weeks, but we’ll keep you posted when we hear more.

Filming began in February of this year and continues apace, with production supposed to wrap sometime during the summer. This means that we can expect to see Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life premiere near the end of 2016.
