We all love The Last of Us composer Gustavo Santaolalla, and Naughty Dog most definitely shares that sentiment with us fans, but the dev still isn’t going to appreciate the Argentinian composer just walking around leaking information about their highly closeted secrets. But done is done, and as a result, we now know a new Last of Us release is on the horizon.
Meanwhile, Doctor Who has just announced that the forthcoming 60th-anniversary special episodes are getting a very special treatment in January. Check out these beats and more in today’s sci-fi roundup.
Star Wars fans try to determine the biggest traitor in the story, and one character is by far the most popular choice
Forget Count Dooku and Anakin Skywalker. According to the Star Wars fandom, the biggest traitor and the ultimate jerk in the galaxy far, far away, is none other than General Pong Krell. For those of you who have blissfully forgotten the Clone Wars character and his crimes, Krell was a Jedi Master who turned coat and ended up killing many soldiers under his command. For that betrayal alone, and for all the trouble the 501st and 212th went into to capture him, Krell’s name will forever live in infamy.
Good Omens is introducing two new characters in the second season, and they’re a very peculiar case
Going beyond the original Good Omens that Neil Gaiman wrote with the late Terry Pratchett back in the late ’80s means that the former has to come up with a new story, and presumably, new characters. Two of these new additions have been portrayed by Nina Sosanya and Maggie Service, and interestingly enough, their respective character names are also Nina and Maggie. We won’t even begin to guess what new game Neil is playing, but we can say that we’re definitely excited.
The Last of Us composer hints that a new version is under way
The Last of Us television show on HBO is in trouble due to the ongoing WGA and SAG strikes, but that doesn’t mean Naughty Dog is going to stop working on the games. In fact, according to what the franchise’s music composer Gustavo Santaolalla has let slip, the studio is currently working on a new release, and most seem to think it’s a remastered version of The Last of Us Part II for PlayStation 5 and PC.
Doctor Who‘s 60th anniversary is getting official novelizations
The upcoming 60th anniversary of Doctor Who is going all out in terms of plot. We still don’t know what sort of timey-wimey cocktail Russell T. Davies has mixed together in his trilogy starring David Tennant and Catherine Tate, but whatever it is, the BBC is feeling inclined to bring together a whole extra crew to turn the episodes into novels. November can’t come soon enough.
