John Diggle’s New Costume For Arrow Season 8 Revealed

Arrow's set to end this year with its eighth and final season but that doesn't mean there's any reason for Team Arrow to be wearing yesteryear's costumes. Many of the gang will be getting fresh looks for the new run, with Stephen Amell's latest Green Arrow outfit previously being revealed via promo images and the season 8 trailer unveiling Laurel Lance/Black Canary's revamped appearance. Now, the latest character confirmed to be getting a makeover is David Ramsey's John Diggle.

EP Marc Guggenheim shared some concept art of Diggle’s new suit on Twitter this week. Alongside a snap of himself and Ramsey, presumably taken at Comic-Con, the producer wrote: “@david_ramsey⁩ and I ran out of time! Here’s Spartan’s new costume for Season 8!”

Guggenheim also confirmed that this was the costume he was teasing on social media a few weeks back.

As so much about season 8 is being kept under wraps right now, we don’t know exactly how Diggle will fit into Arrow‘s final run. His family and legacy will certainly be a big part of it , though, as his sons will feature in the flash-forward segments. Both Connor Hawke (Joseph David-Jones) and John Diggle Jr. (Charlie Barnett) will serve as regulars in season 8.

And let’s not forget about the potential for Diggle to become a Green Lantern this year. The long-held fan theory that Diggle’s a version of John Stewart was finally made semi-canon last year, what with that reference in “Elseworlds” and the revelation that Diggle’s step-father has the surname Stewart. As such, we’re keeping our fingers crossed he’ll find himself with a Power Ring in this fall’s “Crisis on Infinite Earths.”

Before the big crossover hits, though, Arrow has its shortened 10-episode final season to get through, and it kicks off on The CW on Tuesday, October 15th.
