Let’s speculate for just a moment; what might happen if someone, a DC fan perhaps, took to Twitter to see if they could squeeze some info out of DC Universe top dog James Gunn, only to ask whether or not a beloved main character from Peacemaker, a show that’s not only confirmed to have a second season in development and a DCU spin-off series of its own, but also happens to be one of Gunn’s passion projects? Just what answer can we possibly expect?
Well, one such person has graciously taken that plunge, and Gunn confirmed our curiosities in the blink of an eye.
Indeed, when asked if Vigilante, the most adorable sociopath to ever grace the comic book film/television show scene, would eventually pop back up, Gunn was happy to let us know that we haven’t seen the last of Adrian Chase. In other news, the next Marvel movie is going to have characters in it.
Portrayed by Freddie Stroma, Vigilante appeared in Gunn’s Peacemaker, a spin-off of Gunn’s 2021 feature film The Suicide Squad and a deeper exploration of the titular antihero, played by John Cena. In the series, Vigilante is a gung-ho “crimefighter” that looks up to the verbosely nationalistic Christopher Smith, and is willing to commit murder on any lawbreaker, whether it be a petty thief or a serial killer.
Indeed, with a second season of Peacemaker in the pipeline and a spin-off in the form of Waller alongside it, there’s plenty of space for Vigilante to show up again; hopefully the internet’s more oblivious superhero fans can breathe easier now.
