Inhumans Season 2 Already Being Planned Despite Terrible Reviews

It’s probably a decent prediction that Marvel’s ready to wholly disregard the entire project and will probably be busily pretending the whole thing never happened by Christmas. But, displaying an admirable optimism, showrunner Scott Buck is already making plans for season 2 and beyond.

In a recent interview, he said the following:

“We have ideas. We know our starting point for Season 2, but we don’t know if there will be a Season 2. Hopefully, there will be a Season 2. If so, we know where we’re gonna start, and we’ll very gratefully gear up and get to work. We generally know where the first three seasons could go. What’s fun about the show is that it will basically always be a show about family, so there’s always going to be places to take these characters.”

I’m tempted to cut Buck some slack here. After all, it sounds as if he didn’t get the budget he was hoping for and the extraordinarily short shooting schedule would test even the best directors. However, he’s also the showrunner for Netflix’s Iron Fist, which was the most boring television series I’ve seen in a long time. One flop is understandable, but two? The Buck has to stop somewhere…

But hey, I haven’t actually seen the show yet, so I’m definitely tuning in tonight to see if it really is as bad as everyone says it is. Who knows, perhaps it’ll be a secret success and Inhumans will be the sleeper superhero hit of the year. Maybe, but somehow I doubt it.
