‘I’m worried it’s gone too far’: Bella Ramsey has mixed feelings about Pedro Pascal being the internet’s daddy

"He might be your father, Ellie, but he isn't your daddy." Wait... that's not how we use that quote, is it?

Bella Ramsey was originally onboard for all the hype surrounding Pedro Pascal, especially his status as the internet’s daddy, but now they’re not sure if the trend hasn’t gone too far.

Pedro Pascal’s part as Joel Miller in The Last of Us not only pertains to a literal father figure, but also entails a certain, um, exudation of heroic and charismatic energy that has lent him much popularity among thirsty online users. The actor himself recently said that he’s just having fun with it for the moment, but his co-star isn’t sure if it will be healthy in the long run.

“I very much played into it at the beginning, but now I’m worried it’s gone too far. I don’t know whether he’s still loving it; I need to ask him. He’s a global phenomenon as he should be, because he’s pretty spectacular.”

These days, the honor of being the internet’s daddy or mommy passes hands more quickly than the characters themselves are born. For a while back there, it was Ewan McGregor’s Obi-Wan Kenobi being hailed as the ultimate daddy. Then came Pedro Pascal again as both The Mandalorian and Joel. We can even swear that there was a time when Elizabeth Olsen had to tackle that attention to some degree during the press tour for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. And now? Keanu Reeves is once again rising through the ranks thanks to the release of John Wick: Chapter 4.

So, as you can see, the internet can’t seem to really make up its mind, but I think we should be fine as long as it’s all in the spirit of fooling around.
