The resurgence of Annabeth Gith continues with the news that she will join AMC’s drama series Halt And Catch Fire for the duration of its upcoming third season. Frequently popping up in handfuls of episodes of TV shows such as Criminal Minds, Once Upon A Time, Parenthood and Pretty Little Liars, her role in Halt And Catch Fire will represent her biggest commitment since joining the cast of The X-Files in 2001.
Halt And Catch Fire is set in the early 1980s in the Silicon Prairie Of Texas, and charts the ‘personal computer revolution’ through the eyes of fictional industry insiders. It stars Lee Pace (Guardians Of The Galaxy), Scoot McNairy (Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice), Aleksa Palladino (Boardwalk Empire), Kerry Bishe (Argo), MacKenzie Davis (The Martian), John Getz (The Social Network), and Annette O’Toole (Smallville), and has been nominated for a number of awards during the course of its two season, 20 episode run.
When it returns for season three, Annabeth Gish will feature for the duration as a venture capitalist who has found enormous professional success while raising two children as a single mother. Her character will be seen to be considering investment in the company that is the focus of the series, and her straightforward manner looks set to ruffle some feathers.
The show was created by Christopher Cantwell and Christopher C. Rogers, and is their first such endeavour. It has been well received by audiences and critics alike, who draw particular attention to the distinctive visual style achieved in each episode. The addition of Annabeth Gish for season three speaks volumes about the kind of quality of writing we can expect to see.
