Gotham’s David Mazouz Already Has An Idea For How The Series Should End

The actor behind Bruce Wayne has already visualized a poetic series finale of Gotham, which is due to make its return on March 1st.

Ever since Fox initially hatched their idea for Gotham, a prequel series chronicling the early years of one Bruce Wayne, fans of the Caped Crusader have long wondered how it’ll handle the inevitable transition from Bruce to Batman.

So far, we’ve caught a glimpse of proto-Batman, while lead actor David Mazouz believes it won’t be much longer before his on-screen hero is stripped of his innocence. All of this will seemingly culminate in the moment viewers have been waiting for: disillusioned with the city’s police force, the young Bruce Wayne decides to don the cape and cowl and, ultimately, become the Dark Knight he was destined to be.

Turns out that revelation – that come-to-Jesus moment – underpins Mazouz’s own hopes for the Gotham series finale. While appearing on the Discussing Film podcast (via ComicBook.com), the actor detailed how he envisions the show’s last episode:

I hope so. I would love to see the show end with Bruce Wayne in a Batsuit on top of a building looking down, with a Bat-Signal on top Gotham Central. [I want to see] everybody, not just Bruce, coming into the characters they’re supposed to be. Nygma as the full-blown Riddler, Oswald as the full-blown Penguin, Selina as the full-blown Catwoman, Gordon as [a] commissioner with a mustache and glasses.

Mazouz continued:

And everybody coming into the person that they’re destined to be at the same time, in the series finale, I guess it would be. I’d love for that last shot to be Bruce, putting on the Batsuit. That’s just my personal preference, but I don’t know if that’s allowed or realistic. I don’t know what’s actually going to happen.

Elsewhere on the streets of Gotham, there’s a real sense of tension bubbling between Jim (Ben McKenzie) and Sofia (Crystal Reed), as the former struggles to gauge exactly where she falls on the moral spectrum. Meanwhile, Morena Baccarin’s Lee may well find herself in hot water, fueling her rivalry with Sofia.

On March 1st, Gotham swoops back onto Fox for another round thrills and spills. Will you be tuning in? Take to the comments section and let us know!
