Awesome Marvel Fan Art Imagines Norman Reedus As Ghost Rider

Gabriel Luna did a great job as Robbie Reyes on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 4, but Marvel fans still really want to see the original Ghost Rider, Johnny Blaze, appear in the MCU at some point in the near future. And for years, there's only been one name at the top of people's lists: The Walking Dead star Norman Reedus.

Gabriel Luna did a great job as Robbie Reyes on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 4, but Marvel fans still really want to see the original Ghost Rider, Johnny Blaze, appear in the MCU at some point in the near future. And for years, there’s only been one name at the top of people’s lists: The Walking Dead star Norman Reedus.

If you’re personally struggling to see the man we most know as Daryl Dixon with a flaming skull, though, here’s something that might help. One fan dedicated to seeing the idea realized, Reddit user BritEdit, has created an awesome piece of artwork that imagines what Reedus could look like as the Spirit of Vengeance, and you can check it out below.

The reason the actor’s long been a fan favorite to play the part is because he’s already said that he’d like to portray Johnny Blaze on numerous occasions. If he did land the role, he’d be stepping into the charred shoes of Nicolas Cage, who starred in two Ghost Rider movies in 2007 and 2011. Cage himself said he’s up to do an R-rated outing as the character, like he always wanted to make, but we can’t see Marvel Studios taking him up on that offer, sadly. For one, they’re mostly family-oriented and two, because Cage’s Ghost Rider movies were critically panned.

Blaze has already been confirmed to exist in the MCU, though. A thrilling flashback on AoS saw Luna encounter his predecessor as the Rider. He was only depicted in his flaming, skeletal appearance, however, to leave the casting for the character wide open if Marvel ever wanted to do anything with him. Who knows, maybe he’ll show up on Disney’s new streaming service, Disney+?

Reedus would definitely be great in the part, but something tells us his continued commitment to TWD would preclude him from finding time to play a Marvel superhero. But what do you think? Would the actor make a good Ghost Rider? Have your say in the comments section down below.
