With the “Elseworlds” crossover being just under one week away from commencing, The CW sure aren’t taking it for granted that everyone out there is going in prepared. Just last night, we were pleasantly blindsided by an ominous prologue for the event during the closing moments of Supergirl, showing the Monitor seemingly laying waste to Earth-90.
This time, though, the latest treat comes in the form of a stunning banner which I imagine Stephen Amell will have prints made for signing at conventions before long. Of course, the heroes of the Arrowverse did already assemble on a cool mock comic book cover released online not long ago, but now we’re seeing the real deal right in front of us.
Found below, the following characters can be glimpsed from left to right: a mysterious robotic fella yet to be identified, Oliver Queen as the Flash, Iris West-Allen, Vibe, Killer Frost, Barry Allen as the Green Arrow, John Diggle, Felicity Smoak, the Monitor, Batwoman, black suit Superman (Superman Prime?), Supergirl, Lois Lane and Superman.
Though we’ll have to wait and see how large of a role he plays, I think it’s worth taking the time to briefly discuss Cisco Ramon again suiting up as Vibe. He may be laying low after supposedly being killed by Cicada, sure, but these annual crossovers have a way of getting everybody off the bench and into the game when the world needs them most.
For more, be sure to check out the synopsis for the opening chapter:
EPIC ELSEWORLDS CROSSOVER KICKS OFF TONIGHT — When Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) and Oliver Queen (guest star Stephen Amell) wake up one morning and realize they have swapped bodies with each other, the two set off to find out what disturbed the timeline to cause such a shift. However, things quickly go from bad to worse when they present their case to Team Flash and the gang doesn’t believe them. Barry and Oliver realize they need Supergirl’s (guest star Melissa Benoist) help and travel to Smallville on Earth-38 where they end up meeting Kara’s cousin, Clark Kent (guest star Tyler Hoechlin), and intrepid reporter, Lois Lane (guest star Elizabeth Tulloch). LaMonica Garrett guest stars as The Monitor. Kevin Tancharoen directed the episode written by Eric Wallace & Sam Chalsen.
“Elseworlds” begins on Sunday, December 9 with The Flash, continues on Monday, December 10 with Arrow, and wraps up on Tuesday, December 11 with Supergirl.
