It’s certainly been an interesting few days for those of us who enjoy comic book based television series, now hasn’t it? After breathing a sigh of relief upon hearing that Gotham was renewed for a fourth season at the eleventh hour, Fox floored us all with our first significant look at The Gifted, a new show set to enrich the X-Men universe.
While all this is certainly awesome, a question that has long remained on the minds of fans and journalists alike has been how the network will juggle these various shows. Well, thanks to TV Line, we now have that answer as Fox has finally released its fall upfronts. As it turns out, Lucifer will take over Gotham‘s old timeslot of 8 pm on Monday nights, with The Gifted following at 9 pm. In case you’re keeping track, that means we’ll be seeing two series – one DC and one Marvel – being paired on the same night, something we definitely thought we’d never see on the same station.
As for Gotham, it’ll move to Thursday nights at 8pm, meaning it will no longer have to compete with Supergirl, unless, of course, it or another DC TV show ends up competing for viewers in the same timeslot. We hope this isn’t the case as many fans have long been calling for the Batman prequel to be afforded some breathing room, but seeing as how The CW releases its own upfronts this Thursday, we should have a definitive answer before long.
Speaking of Gotham, ComicBook.com recently got their hands on some of the first images from tonight’s episode, “Heroes Rise: Light The Wick,” depicting Nathaniel Barnes as the Executioner, who based on his costume and makeup, makes it hard to distinguish whether he’s about to terrorize the city or is on his way to a Combichrist concert.
