Alongside all that, we’ve heard various reports about the stars of the DC TV franchise jumping ship. But it seems that at least one of those reports might’ve been wrong.

The Flash‘s Danielle Panabaker chatted with Entertainment Tonight recently about making her directorial debut on the show with yesterday’s episode, “Godspeed.” Of course, there was also some talk about what’s next for her character Caitlin Snow/Killer Frost. When asked if a romance is on the horizon for the STAR Labs doctor, Panabaker suggested maybe it could happen next year. Which seems to tell us that the actress plans to stick around for season 6.

“I don’t know. I feel like the relationship she’s been focused on this year is her relationship with Killer Frost so that’s sort of her relationship with herself, so I don’t know if there’s romance for her this season, but maybe next year,”

All the talk of the talent leaving started back in February with reports that Carlos Valdes was set to say goodbye to his fan favorite role as Cisco Ramon after The Flash season 5. It was said that Valdes wanted to move on to other projects so the writers were coming up with an impermanent exit for the character, allowing him the chance to return should he want to.

We Got This Covered then heard from a source that Panabaker might be following her longtime co-star out the door, but the actress’ comments above seem to prove otherwise. In our original article, we did state that this was not as much a done-deal as Valdes’ exit and a renegotiation might keep the star on board, so it’s possible that this latter scenario happened.

If true, this is good news for Caitlin fans, especially after Panabaker’s directorial debut went down so well with viewers. Maybe she’ll even helm some additional episodes if she’s sticking with The Flash for season 6 and beyond.
