Last October, Variety reported that Captain America’s old friends Falcon and Winter Soldier have their own TV show in the works, and in the midst of Disney’s latest investor day, it seems we have our first look at the logo for the upcoming miniseries.
As you can see, it’s not the best quality image, but the real takeaway here is that Marvel Studios is pushing forward with their plans for the Disney Plus show. Right now, details on the project remain vague, but in the original Variety article, it was said that Malcolm Spellman of Empire fame had been tapped write the series. Since then, an unconfirmed report has emerged alleging that the show will be a spy thriller in the vein of Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and may even feature Nick Fury in some capacity.
In any case, Falcon and Winter Soldier (as we’re apparently calling it) is one several MCU spinoffs headed for Disney Plus at some point. As it stands, the Loki show looks like it might be the first to premiere on the platform, though the Vision and Scarlet Witch miniseries may not be far behind. Earlier this week, Variety also broke the news that Hawkeye will be getting his own small screen outing in which he trains a young apprentice.
With exception of Jeremy Renner’s character, one thing you may notice about all of the aforementioned MCU stars is that they were killed off in the events of Avengers: Infinity War. Falcon and Winter Soldier, for instance, both perished in the infamous snap that concluded last year’s release. How exactly all these heroes are back in the world of the living has been a subject of continuous debate for the last few months, but our answer will soon come with the release of Avengers: Endgame on April 26th.
