One of the most talked about in-development television shows right now is without a doubt Gotham. The Fox series will take place in a world where Bruce Wayne has not yet donned the cape and cowl and where James Gordon is not yet a police Commissioner. With a script from Bruno Heller, the plot will explore the city’s origins and look at how characters like the Riddler, Catwoman and several other villains came to be.
Though the project is still in its early days, Latino Review is bringing us news tonight that Donal Logue has been offered the role of James Gordon. Though not yet a household name, the actor has had a long career and has appeared on both television and film in several notable roles. You may know him from Terriers or Sons of Anarchy and he’s definitely the type of seasoned veteran that would be capable of taking on a part like this.
Personally, I can’t say that I’m too familiar with Logue’s work but given what I know about him, and from what I’ve read, he seems like an apt choice for Gordon. While there’s certainly other actors who spring to mind when I think of who I want to see in the role, I wouldn’t complain if Logue ends up signing on.
Then again, the actor has already denied it on Twitter, so this may be nothing more than a rumor. However, we’ve seen this happen before and I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s just down-playing the news until it becomes official.
@nerdbastards not true! I wish-would be awesome (but who could top Gary Oldman?) From what I heard, Gotham catches Gordon in his late 20’s
