Last week’s episode of Doctor Who was hardly the show’s most exciting outing. Considered by many to be the low point of season 11 – at least, so far – it was a harmless, but kind of dull hour which stumbled more than it sprinted. Then again, it’s hard to stay in perfect form all season long and the latest run of the sci-fi series has been pretty exceptional so far.
It looks like things will pick back up in the coming weeks, too, as the synopses for episodes 7 and 8 sound pretty exciting, but fans should note that there’s going to be some scheduling changes being made. In what’ll be the earliest time slot yet for the new season, November 18th’s episode, “Kerblam!” will air at 6:30pm.
Typically, the show airs closer to 7pm, but it’s now being shifted to make room for Dynasties, a nature doc narrated by David Attenborough, which will be on our screens from 8-9pm on Sunday nights. And given that it’ll run for five weeks, it seems likely that Who will continue in this new time slot for a while yet.
Of course, this is hardly a big deal and probably won’t have much of an impact on viewing numbers, but again, fans will want to note the scheduling change all the same, lest they miss out. Before the time change, though, we’ve still got this week’s episode to look forward to, which is titled “Demons of the Punjab.”
According to the BBC’s official synopsis, here’s what it’ll revolve around:
India, 1947. The Doctor and her friends arrive in the Punjab, as the country is being torn apart. While Yaz attempts to discover her grandmother’s hidden history, the Doctor discovers demons haunting the land. Who are they and what do they want?
Sounds like an interesting setting and story, and you can catch it when Doctor Who returns to our screens this Sunday, November 11th on the BBC.
