Disney kills 2 birds with one stone — cancels everyone’s new comfort show and betrays its star already let down by Fox, MTV, and The CW

It has been removed from all four Disney streaming platforms.

For anyone of us who thought the many series on other Disney-backed platforms are safe from its hell-bent urge to purge loved selections, it is time to think again.

After deleting the sci-fi hit Crater from Disney Plus (after just seven weeks for reasons that have been labeled selfish), the Mouse House has brought its axe down on the critically and unanimously loved comedy series, Single Drunk Female, on Freeform.

The series received much hype back in January 2022 during its debut as it effectively ended former teen idol, Ally Sheedy’s (The Breakfast Club, St. Elmo’s Fire, Maid to Order, etc.), years-long Hollywood hiatus and brought her back to the screen in a main role.

But what is disappointing the most is having to say goodbye to the series protagonist, Sofia Black-D’Elia, and losing a show that knew how to deal with its sensitive theme.

After canceling and dumping Willow, Single Drunk Female is the second show renowned for its LGBTQ+ representation that has received the boot from Disney.

Apparently, Disney only bothered to warn fans about its first wave of cancelations and removals.

This is not the first time that a show starring Black-D’Elia in a significant role has been canceled in its prime.

Sadly, The Mick, which was canceled by Fox after two seasons, isn’t the only series that took Sofia Black-D’Elia’s impressive performances away from her fans. Previously, the comedy Skins was booted by MTV in 2011, followed by The CW ending the supernatural mystery series, The Messengers, after just one season in 2015.

Unfortunately, Single Drunk Female is not the only show canceled and dumped by Disney as The Watchful Eye has met a similar fate. And like the latter, the Black-D’Elia starrer has been removed globally from Freeform, Hulu, Star Plus, and Disney Plus.
