Has DC’s Live-Action Titans Already Cast Red Hood?

Among many things, one reason DC fans have to look forward to the upcoming live action Titans series is that it'll feature the first iteration of Dick Grayson to have appeared outside of comics or animation for quite some time. Granted, he may still be operating under the guise of Robin as opposed to Nightwing, but it's still cause for celebration.

Among many things, one reason DC fans have to look forward to the upcoming live-action Titans series is that it’ll feature the first iteration of Dick Grayson to have appeared outside of comics or animation for quite some time. Granted, he may still be operating under the guise of Robin as opposed to Nightwing, but it’s still cause for celebration.

That said, you don’t need us to tell you how anyone to have taken up the Robin mantle has a rabid following to call their own, and it’s downright criminal that anyone other than Dick has yet to find their way to screens big or small. That may be changing quite soon, though, as earlier this week, reports surfaced that pointed to none other than Jason Todd appearing on Titans. If that name sounds familiar to you, it should, because the second Robin went on to become the cult favorite anti-hero known as the Red Hood.

As of yet, no casting has been announced, but thanks to Heroic Hollywood, we may know who’ll be playing the character. According to them, Curran Walters (20th Century WomenGirl Meets World) has landed the role. The actor was spotted on set this week while a few bloggers have also reported seeing him hanging out with Brenton Thwaites, who’s playing Dick Grayson on the show.

Now, Walters might be portraying someone other than Red Hood, but that’s what much of the speculation points to, and it’d make sense. Granted, we’re still waiting on an official announcement from Warner Bros., but don’t be too surprised if this ends up panning out. Either way, though, we don’t need to tell you how huge it is to have the character on the show, as Jason Todd has yet to appear in live-action, with even animated appearances being an extreme rarity

Alongside Thwaites, Titans also stars Anna Diop (Starfire), Teagan Croft (Raven), Ryan Potter (Beast Boy), Alan Ritchson (Hawk) and Minka Kelly (Dove). So far, only Hawk and Dove’s costumes have been revealed – along with Grayson’s – but we expect the rest to arrive soon as production continues ahead of the series’ debut at some point later this year.
