3) Beware The Court Of Owls
Having lurked in the shadows for much of Gotham season 3, the mysterious cabal known as the Court of Owls finally made their presence known this week. Being a product of one of the most celebrated Batman comics of this decade, their live action debut certainly has a lot to live up to and, so far, the execution has been decent.
But before we get a full reveal in the style of Eyes Wide Shut (which had better get here before long), we’re being teased with just how wide their reach is and the fear they inspire as Bruce Wayne, Selina Kyle and Ivy Pepper recently came into possession of a key belonging to the masked secret society. Thinking he’d violated the terms of their treaty, Bruce intended to bargain and instead briefly colluded with the Whisper Gang, a jaded trio disillusioned with the Court’s methods. But that pretty much ended up being for naught as a Talon was swiftly sent for the heads of the mercenaries.
What’s also interesting is that they have a vendetta against Carmine Falcone’s son, Mario, the details of which are yet to be revealed. This again plays into their wide reach and is connecting several plot threads in intriguing ways making this coming Monday’s fall finale must see TV.
