Former Daredevil Showrunner Is Game For A Moon Knight TV Series

If there’s one thing that Marvel's Netflix initiative has excelled at, it’s making household names out of characters who were largely unfamiliar to the mainstream before they showed up in their current iterations. Think about it: Only Daredevil and the Punisher had really enjoyed major pop culture exposure in years prior, with Iron Fist, Luke Cage and Jessica Jones having been relatively unknown to those who didn’t read comics. There have been animated appearances, sure, but those are a little more "niche," so to speak.

But in the time since 2015, all that’s changed. So, naturally, one would assume that many others are waiting for their chance to shine, chief among them being Moon Knight. In fact, the hero with multiple personalities is someone whom True Believers have clamored for, so someone had better get the job done before long.

Strangely enough, Steven S. DeKnight, the very man who ran the show during Daredevil‘s first season, sounds up to the task when it comes to overseeing a series based on Moon Knight. Here’s what he had to say in a recent chat with ComicBook.com:

“That’s a weird story actually. I never considered including Moon Knight in Daredevil. Somebody asked me on Twitter a while back if I would do Moon Knight and I’ve always been a huge Moon Knight fan and yeah, if I had the time in my schedule and the stars aligned, I’d love to do Moon Knight.”

He continued:

“I mean, I love the whole multiple personality. Is he crazy? Is he not crazy? Has he really gotten these mystical powers? Are they supernatural or is it all in his head? I think it would make for a very, very interesting Marvel universe kind of Netflix show. I also hope they’ll expand and give him a shot sometime.”

In fact, this isn’t the first time DeKnight has expressed interest in Moon Knight, so let’s hope that the Powers The Be somehow get wind of this, as it’s high time this beloved character be adapted, wouldn’t you say?
