At San Diego Comic-Con tonight, Marvel officially announced that Daredevil will return for a third season. Obviously, this isn’t terribly surprising news, as the hit Netflix series was a shoe-in for another run, but seeing as how up until now it hadn’t been confirmed yet, it’s definitely exciting to hear Marvel finally making it official.
While season two wasn’t quite as impressive as the show’s rookie outing, the inclusion of characters like The Punisher and Elektra still made it a memorable affair. Sure, things kind of went off the edge during the last few episodes, but on the whole, Daredevil‘s sophomore season was a thrilling ride from start to finish.
[zergpaid]Aside from the initial announcement of a renewal, nothing else was revealed about what to expect when the show returns. We don’t even have a premiere date yet. Speculation has run rampant in recent months that Bullseye may be the primary antagonist for season 3, and while that’s something we’d love to see happen, it’s far from confirmed.
So, while we’re still completely in the dark in regards to what’s in the pipeline for the Man Without Fear, we can at least take comfort in the fact that he’ll be returning to our screens. And not once, but twice, as Marvel’s The Defenders is also in the works and will presumably land before Daredevil season 3 does.
As always, we’ll keep you posted when we hear more. For now, though, drop us a comment below letting us know what you want to see in the show’s next outing.
