This fall, The CW will stake a claim for Sunday evenings once more.
That was the news coming out of the network’s upfront presentation earlier today, which confirmed that Supergirl has been shifted to Sunday for the first time in three years, leaving the Monday night slot free for Arrow, the DC Comics series that’s now on the verge of a “massive and insane” season finale. Look for it to light up The CW later this evening.
Other shows affected by this switcheroo include the network’s Charmed reboot, while the likes of Supernatural (Thursdays), Black Lightning (Tuesdays) and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow (Mondays) all maintain their existing timeframe. So, there’s lots to look forward to then and now, to start getting you excited for what’s to come, the network’s released a new sizzle reel which teases their line-up and can be seen up above.
Of course, the biggest news coming out of The CW’s presentation today was the fact that for next year’s Arrowverse crossover, Batwoman and Gotham City will be introduced. Yes, the network’s shared universe is about to make way for a member of the Bat-family and we couldn’t be more excited about it.
Speaking about the huge announcement, CW President Mark Pedowitz had this to offer:
“We are adding the city of Gotham into the Arrowverse. This will be another full-throttled, action-packed event.”
How exactly Kate Kane will factor into the world occupied by the likes of Oliver Queen, Barry Allen, etc., remains to be seen, but it’s likely that The CW has big plans for her and we can’t wait to find out more about the next crossover event – which we imagine we’ll hear about in July at San Diego Comic-Con.
