Agent Carter is set to return to ABC on January 19th for a special two hour premiere which will see Hayley Atwell reprise the role of Peggy Carter for a second season of adventure and intrigue. With the action now moved from New York to Hollywood, the focus of the series is going to shift to the titular hero fighting against new Atomic Age threats in the wake of World War II in what the network calls her most dangerous assignment yet.
Marvel has today released the synopses for both episodes, and while fairly brief, they do shed some light on what we should expect when Agent Carter returns to fill the gap between the first and second halves of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.!
In the season premiere episode, “The Lady in the Lake,” Peggy moves to the City of Angels to help Chief Daniel Sousa at the West Coast Strategic Scientific Reserve (SSR) investigate a bizarre homicide involving an alleged killer and Isodyne Energy, and reunites with some familiar faces.
Here’s the synopsis for the second part of the episode, titled “A View In The Dark”:
Peggy discovers her murder investigation has huge ramifications that can destroy her career, as well as everyone near and dear to her, on “Marvel’s Agent Carter,” TUESDAY, JANUARY 19 (10:00-11:00 p.m. EST) on the ABC Television Network.
Could that killer be Madame Masque? That villain – who is a present day Iron Man foe in the comics – is expected to play a major role in Agent Carter, so it’s certainly possible. Regardless, despite not being a massive ratings hit last year, the spinoff was very well-received by both fans and critics alike, so everyone is hoping for big things from season two of Agent Cater a couple of weeks from now.
