In today’s edition of “sentences that only make sense on the internet,” Warrior Nun showrunner Simon Barry has ignited a debate over whether he’s been condemning the freshly-minted indictment of Donald Trump, or confirming himself as a Taylor Swift fan.
Such is the bizarre world of online discourse, a consensus hasn’t come anywhere close to being reached, with just as many Halo Bearers adamant that he’s referencing the Swiftie overlord’s “Miss Americana & the Heartbreak Prince” as there are politically-knowledgeable fans of the Netflix series confident it’s a judgement on Trump being charged with attempting to cover up a hush money payment to porn star Stormy Daniels in the wake of their brief fling.
Then again, we can’t rule out the possibility that it’s related to something entirely different, but you can’t help but notice the tweet was posted coincidentally close to the ruling being made on the Home Alone 2 star and WWE Hall of Famer’s legal indiscretions, not that it stopped chaos and confusion reigning supreme in the comments.
It’s unusual enough for Barry’s online activity to not revolve around the ongoing campaign to save the sorely missed streaming series, but so far he hasn’t outlined whether he’s talking Trump, Taylor, or anything in between. Not that it’s stopped his followers from arguing amongst themselves, but it just goes to show how something as innocuous as half a dozen words can be interpreted wildly differently as commentaries on two events that having nothing to do with each other.
