After returning from a three week hiatus, Supernatural didn’t waste any time in forcing us to be on the edge our seats, now did it? Continuing to show how this world of hunting exists not in black and white, but in shades of grey, makes for some extremely compelling television, especially when you put British Man of Letters Mick Davies into the mix in order to illustrate such a point.
In last night’s episode, “Ladies Drink Free,” the producers took this to a new level by having Davies get his hands dirty in one of the most morally ambiguous cases to be presented this year. And, as the latest promo video illustrates, next week’s offering will be no less of a white knuckle ride.
From what we can tell, Mick will have to choose between following orders or continuing to forge his working relationship with Sam and Dean. Despite their differences, I feel these characters are playing well off each other, for Mick seems like a pretty good guy underneath. The same, however, probably can’t be said for Mr. Ketch, who has “villainous turn” written all over him.
