Last year, Amazon brought us a little series called The Boys, an adaptation of the beloved graphic novel of the same name. The show was a huge hit, too, bringing in tons of viewers and delivering a cynical take on the superheroes we all look up to. It went over extremely well with critics and fans and the good news is, we’re getting more.
The first season kind of left us all hanging and for months now, fans have been eager to lay eyes on Homelander and the rest of the crew again and while we still don’t know a whole lot about what season 2 has in store for us, showrunner Erik Kripke is already thinking about season 3. And not only is he thinking about it, but he’s just put forth a very exciting prospect.
Taking to Twitter, he’s offered The Walking Dead star Jeffrey Dean Morgan a role in the third season. And wouldn’t you know it, it seems the actor’s interested.
In a heartbeat!

Of course, this is far from a sure thing and while it’s no doubt a piece of casting that fans would go crazy for, there are clearly a few hurdles that it would have to go through before Morgan’s officially locked in for a role in The Boys season 3. Still, just knowing that both parties are interested in making it happen is pretty exciting and with any luck, Amazon will find a way to make it work.
Closer to home, though, and fans can look forward to season 2 of The Boys returning to the streaming platform later this year. It won’t be with Jeffrey Dean Morgan in tow, but we’ve no doubt that Kripke and his team have something very special in store for us that might just be able to match the explosive first season.
