Beauty And The Beast Review: “Till Death” (Season 2, Episode 13)

Tori (Amber Skye Noyes) may be dead, but Sam (Tom Everett Scott), Agent Landon's husband who's been assumed dead for the last six years, is miraculously alive. On the surface this may seem like the lesser of two evils. Tori was, after all, an untamed beast prone to jealous temper tantrums. Plus, she was standing in the way of true love. But it looks like Beauty and the Beast has pulled a fast one on us.

With Cat’s relationship virtually imploding at the beginning of this season, Gabe represents a chance for her to have hope. She can move on without stepping too far outside of her comfort zone to the point where she finds herself in another secretive entanglement. Gabe already knows about beasts. He already is aware of the risks of being involved with her. And, he already genuinely cares about her. It’s like dating Vincent, except safer.

The biggest obstacle with Cat’s new romance though is Vincent. He may have been hitting the friendship juice a little too hard on this episode of Beauty and the Beast, clearly overcompensating for all his past relationship faux pas. Freshly back on the single’s list, he’s already mourned the loss of his short-lived romance, and his dead girlfriend, and moved on. Either the time table presented on Beauty and the Beast is moving really fast, or they need to do a better job of establishing the passage of time.

JT mentioned that Vincent hadn’t moved from the couch in four days, that may not completely account for how long has passed in the show’s fictitious New York universe since last week’s episode, but if approximately a week is the going rate for getting over the death of someone you supposedly care about, that doesn’t say much about the emotional depth of these characters.

Vincent is still in love with Cat and Cat is still in love with Vincent, although in denial at this point. How long do you think it will take for them to rekindle their epic romance? Let us know your theories, and what you thought of tonight’s episode of Beauty and the Beast, in the comment section below!

Random Thoughts:

  • JT and Tess (Nina Lisandrello) make a cute couple, despite his over-the-top attempts to woo her.
  • Cat “bringing” Mexico to Gabe was a decent apology. It showed she was paying attention and appreciated his gesture at the very least.
  • Did Vincent throw Cat and Gabe through a stone and glass wall, and everyone come out unscathed?
  • Hopefully this isn’t the last we see of Dana (Elisabeth Rohm).
